Job summary
Karman Space & Defense is seeking a CMM Programmer III to develop, edit, and execute CMM programs for high-precision aerospace components. You will program Brown & Sharpe and Zeiss CMMs using PC-DMIS/Calypso, interpret GD&T, and work with manufacturing teams to ensure quality first-article inspection.
Role requires 5+ years in dimensional inspection in regulated manufacturing, strong GD&T knowledge, and experience with precision measurement tools.
Qualifications
- Five+ years of dimensional inspection experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing.
- Proficiency programming/editing CMM programs using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar.
- Ability to read complex drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
- Experience with CMM setup and operation.
- Familiarity with precision inspection tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CMMs using PC-DMIS/Calypso.
- Create and maintain CMM inspection programs for high-precision parts.
- Interpret drawings and GD&T to plan inspection approaches.
- Perform first-article, in-process, incoming, and final inspections.
- Troubleshoot CMM/fixture issues and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with machinists and engineers to resolve dimensional issues.
- Develop inspection fixtures to reduce measurement error.
- Document results and maintain quality records.
