Job summary

Barnes Aerospace Ogden Division is seeking a Chem Process Operator for the 2nd shift to support aerospace manufacturing operations. You will perform wet chemistry, metallurgical testing, and quality assurance tasks in a fast-paced production environment.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of lab-based manufacturing experience, strong math and data interpretation skills, and the ability to follow precise procedures. On-site role with a competitive hourly wage and safety-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year strong manufacturing background in a laboratory environment.
• Chemical, mechanical, and metallographic testing skills.
• Experience in laboratory inventory control.
• Advanced math skills.
• Experience in engineering testing failure analysis.
• Excellent computer knowledge and applications experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs wet chemistry, basic chemical testing and pH testing to ensure correct chemical balances per specs.
• Performs metallurgical examinations, inspects metal materials, and analyzes properties to meet specs.
• Uses hot press, grinding/polishing, chemical etching and acids to remove materials.
• Uses grinders and microscopes to achieve quality assurance.
• Uses glassware, burners, beakers, reagents, and pH meters.
• Performs mechanical analysis to prove properties meet specs.
• Performs Rockwell, torsion, tensile, chemical and corrosion testing.
• Maintains documentation and retention compliance.
• Engages in continuous process improvement.
• Cross-trains other staff.
• Follows safety standards and procedures.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
