Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids is seeking interns/co-ops to develop CDU software simulations for avionics displays used in military and commercial helicopters. You will work in a cross‑functional, mentor‑guided team to model and simulate CDU control pages and demonstrate projects at the SEPP demo fair.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree, proficient in Python and C/C++ (and Java), and U.S. citizens as required for access to controlled information.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co‑op session.
• Coding higher level languages like Python, or relevant languages (C/C++, Java)
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Responsibilities

• Perform in a cross‑functional agile team
• Work in close coordination with a mentor using Collins Aerospace engineering processes
• Model and simulate via Avionics Software based Central Display Unit (CDU) control pages
• Demonstrate completed project at Summer Engineering Project (SEPP) demo fair
