Job summary

Hytek Finishes seeks a Cadmium Assistant for the Cadmium Plating department on the 3rd shift in Kent, WA. The role prepares parts for processing and may require FAA DOT drug testing compliance. Prior manufacturing exposure is a plus.

Key responsibilities include following instructions, QA verification, and assisting in continuous improvement efforts while maintaining safety and quality standards in a 24-hour production environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with experienced Operators and Department Leads to complete work and prioritize tasks.
• Follow technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions; sign off after completion and QA verification.
• Review paperwork and perform Operator Self Verification inspections; notify supervisor of any errors.
• Prepare parts prior to operations including cleaning, layout, and racking; use proper tooling and fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with pre/post cleaning surface finish requirements and QA procedures.
• Familiar with engineering drawing notations and safety precautions.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to boost productivity, delivery, and service.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Overview

Title: Aerospace Cadmium Assistant - 3rd Shift

Reports to: Shift Supervisor or Value Stream Manager

Location: Kent, WA - onsite

Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Schedule Type: 3rd Shift

Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. Normal Shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.)

Salary Range for position

$ 22.10 - $ 23.00. The pay range and total compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to your relevant experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other employees. Position Summary

This is a Cadmium Assistant position in our Cadmium Plating department. Employees in this position will learn tasks in order to prepare parts for processing. Cadmium Assistants may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program*. The Plating Assistants perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications.

* FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with experienced Operators and Department Leads to complete work and prioritize tasks.
• Follow technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Operators and Department Leads; legibly sign off on work once completed and Operator Self Verification inspection has occurred.
• General review of paperwork and Operator Self Verification inspection of job to ensure all previous operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
• Prepare parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning, layout, and racking; use proper tooling and fixtures, when applicable.
• Knowledge of pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.
• Familiar with Quality Assurance requirements & rework procedures.
• Familiar with engineering drawing notations.
• Follow safety precautions to avoid preventable injury to self and other personnel.
• Develop new product processing and identify areas for improvement.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive positive change in productivity, delivery, and service.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
• Ability to Read/Write Communicate in English with other employees, Customers, and auditors.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility.

Education & Experience

• 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment a plus.
