Job summary

BETA Technologies in Vermont is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer focused on Battery Systems to design, implement, and improve assembly processes for Alia production. You will collaborate across teams to deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-efficient manufacturing at rate.

The role covers design phase through production, with hands-on assembly when needed, and involvement in qualification, certification, and continuous improvement activities. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 0-2+ years of experience defining assembly processes.
• Experience with operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
• Comfortable with changing directions and time-sensitive analysis.
• Strong problem-solving, SPC, DOE, and simulation skills.
• Understanding of design for assembly, lean manufacturing, and capacity planning.
• Project management and leadership experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally.

Responsibilities

• Own all parts manufacturing for your product focus area.
• Participate in design and process reviews to ensure specifications.
• Design assembly processes, tools, and equipment that are efficient.
• Understand certification requirements and reduce risks.
• Commission production processes and equipment through testing.
• Submit, review, and approve changes for continuous improvement.
• Support make/buy/ROI analyses and validate external suppliers.
• Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies.
• Plan capacity to meet production targets.
• Collaborate with quality, design, and M&P to disposition NCRs.
• Enable inventory management through ERP troubleshooting.
• Hands-on assembly of product when needed.
