Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking an Engineering Intern for Automation & Robotics as part of the Gear Up Early Career Program. You will gain hands‑on experience on projects supporting aerospace component manufacturing and repair while learning from experienced engineers and automation specialists.

You will help develop and implement automation solutions, including COBOTs, machine vision, marking equipment, and industrial controls within an FAA Repair Station environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline.
• Strong academic standing and internship duration availability.
• Interest in industrial automation, robotics, aerospace manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Read/write/speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with integration and testing of collaborative robots (COBOTs) and automation equipment.
• Support development/documentation of repair processes for turbine, compressor, and combustor components.
• Assist with data collection, analysis, and structured problem‑solving methods for process improvements.
• Track process metrics and KPIs to support manufacturing performance.
• Prepare technical reports, procedures, specifications, and presentations.
• Present project findings to internal stakeholders.
• Learn and comply with FAA, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
