Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Aerospace Assembly/MRO technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for making repairs and performing maintenance on products to blueprint specifications while adhering to strict quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently and within a team, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment. This is an excellent role for someone who likes working with their hands, who can also follow written instructions.

Prior assembly/MRO aerospace experience OR experience as an auto mechanic or graduation from an auto tech program is required.


We have many former auto mechanics and experienced aerospace techs on our team. This is a Monday-Friday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm role. This is a union role. Starting pay is $24.46/hr. The ability to pass a pre-employment background check and an FAA-regulated drug test is required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Tear down and repair or perform maintenance on aerospace products in accordance with blueprint specifications and defined quality standards.
  • Use hand tools and equipment to perform various assembly tasks, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Obtain necessary training to acquire relevant skills, knowledge, and certifications for the job.
  • Inspect parts and assembled products to detect and resolve any quality defects or discrepancies.
  • Follow all relevant quality systems and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) protocols to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient work area, ensuring proper care and handling of materials and tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet production goals and deadlines.

Work Environment: The role is based in a production environment, requiring adherence to safety procedures and regulations. Work may involve exposure to various materials, tools, and equipment in an industrial setting.

Requirements:

You Must Have:

  • High School Diploma or GED plus some physical work experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status).
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Minimum 20/30 vision with the ability to see small parts and components.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods during the assembly process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, preferably in aerospace is a plus
  • Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team, taking direction from experienced peers, leads, and supervisors.
  • Good communication, organizational, and intermediate computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift materials regularly.
  • Ability to work in a seated position for extended periods during certain tasks.
  • Must have good vision to inspect small parts and products.
