Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Melbourne, FL seeks an Aircraft Inspector 2/3 to join a team of qualified professionals. Conduct part and process inspections, read technical documents, and ensure traceability with AS9100/DCMA quality requirements.

This role requires strong measurement tool experience (calipers, micrometers, gages) and GD&T understanding. Ability to work with manufacturing and engineering teams is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with relevant QA/inspection experience
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, gages and inspection tools
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing and cable harnesses
• GD&T understanding and ability to read plans, drawings, BOMs and specs
• Physical ability to perform required tasks including lifting up to 25 lbs
• Ability to work around composites, epoxies and sealants
• Must pass physical/vision exam and have clearance readiness for government work
• US citizenship required for clearance and ability to obtain active government clearance

Responsibilities

• Conduct part and process inspections using gages and measurement tools to meet customer requirements
• Understand tolerances, specifications and process requirements for parts and processes
• Record and document measurement results for traceability and MRB
• Read technical documents including drawings, work instructions and technical instructions
• Identify discrepant parts and document for engineering review in MRB format
• Maintain knowledge of AS9100 and DCMA quality requirements
• Communicate with Manufacturing and Mission Assurance at various levels
• Learn and use facility software programs related to QA
• Support manufacturing and engineering tasks including RCCA, MRB follow-up, repairs/rework and internal audits
• Monitor safety practices and assist inspection training, FAI/FOD tasks as assigned
• Maintain company expectations including timecard, performance goals, handbook rules
