Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Entry Processing in Portsmouth, VA. You will protect clients across industries from entry points and verify access credentials, maintaining secure environments.

Expect visible presence, routine patrols, and excellent customer service to deter incidents and support operations. Responsibilities include monitoring entry points, documenting access records, and responding calmly to incidents while coordinating with site leadership and emergency

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigations will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply, depending on state law.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Verify credentials, authorize entry according to established access requirements, and maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and vehicle access records.
• Monitor entry and exit points, access control systems, and security-related communications; report unusual activity, access discrepancies, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and coordinating with emergency responders and/or site leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, restricted areas, the business, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
