SST Direct in Hebron, KY is seeking an experienced 5-axis CNC Programmer for aerospace components. The role focuses on developing and optimizing complex programs for high-tolerance parts using Mastercam and Vericut with Makino machining centers and live-tooling lathes.

You will collaborate with engineering and production to ensure precision, quality, and on-time delivery, maintaining thorough documentation and embracing continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical degree preferred.
• 3+ years of CNC programming with aerospace experience.
• Proficient in Mastercam and multi-axis programming.
• Experience with Vericut for program verification.
• Hands-on with Makino and live-tooling CNC lathes.
• Strong reading of aerospace drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for 5-axis aerospace components.
• Create advanced multi-axis tool paths for complex geometries.
• Program lathes with live tooling for mill-turn applications.
• Set up, prove out, and validate programs on Makino centers and lathes.
• Use Vericut to simulate and verify collision-free machining.
• Interpret aerospace drawings, CAD models, and GD&T with precision.
• Select tooling and parameters to meet tolerances and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot issues to maintain aerospace quality and repeatability.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams.
