Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent with 7+ years related experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other drawings; perform basic math.
• Must use hand tools and shop equipment (rollers, cutters, x-acto knives, heat gun).
• Ability to measure with scales, protractors and calipers.
• Familiarity with common shop tools (band saws, disk sanders, drill press, etc.).
• Respirator certification may be required.
• Must work in loud environments and extend hours as needed.
• Able to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.
• DoD security clearance ability required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces and paint composite and metal components, including bodywork and sanding.
• Apply spray coatings (epoxy, urethane, water-based) using HVLP spray gun.
• Assist mold preparation and lay-up of composite materials.
• Cut tapes and materials following templates and dimensions.
• Route, drill, trim and sand to blueprint tolerances.
• Assemble aircraft components with adhesives, rivets and fasteners.
• Maintain records and ensure quality per procedures.
• Follow safety and operating procedures at all times.
