Job summary

Rocket EMS in California is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented 2D X-Ray Inspection Technician to support the manufacture of high-reliability IPC Class 3 aerospace PCBAs. You will independently operate 2D X-ray inspection equipment, interpret images, and document results per customer requirements and workmanship standards.

You will work with Quality, Process Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to identify defects, validate corrective actions, and ensure traceability for aerospace assemblies

Qualifications

• Two or more years in PCBA inspection or a closely related role.
• Hands-on experience operating 2D X-ray, AXI, AOI equipment.
• Ability to interpret X-ray images on densely populated boards.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 Class 3 and J-STD-001 Class 3 criteria.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 2D X-ray equipment for first article, in-process, final, and investigative inspections.
• Inspect BGAs, LGAs, QFNs, and other solder joints not visible visually.
• Evaluate solder voiding, misalignment, bridges, opens, and other defects.
• Document inspection results with measurements and reference designators.
• Identify nonconforming material and route for disposition.
• Collaborate with Quality, Process Engineering, SMT, and Rework teams.
• Support defect validation after rework and preventive actions.
