Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) invites an entry-level Dynamics Engineer to join the Airframe Integrity Group in Poway, CA.

You will perform structural dynamics modeling and analysis using classical methods and FEM, supporting air vehicle design, payload integrations, and modifications through all product phases. The role requires creating test models, supporting ground vibration and static testing, and correlating analytical results with test data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in engineering or related field; two+ years of engineering experience preferred
• Broad understanding of engineering concepts related to structures and dynamics
• Ability to learn quickly and apply concepts in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and presentation skills for cross‑functional interfaces
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance
• Experience with FEMAP, NASTRAN, MATLAB, ABAQUS preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop structural dynamic models using classical and finite element methods (FEM)
• Model analysis of composite and metallic structures and related systems
• Manage models using PLM and adhere to applicable requirements
• Support ground vibration testing and flight test data correlation
• Prepare technical deliverables and present results to leadership and customers
• Support proposals with scope estimation and technical content in dynamics
