Job summary

HIKINEX seeks an experienced aerospace engineer to lead aerodynamic design and analysis for unmanned air vehicles and missiles. You will perform performance modeling, stability analysis, and tool development, ensuring rigorous data handling from wind tunnel and flight tests.

The role requires a BS in Aerospace Engineering, 3+ years IC engineering experience, and eligibility for a U.S. Secret clearance. Proficiency in MATLAB/Python and CFD methods is essential.

Qualifications

• BS or higher degree in Aerospace Engineering.
• 3+ years as an individual contributor engineer.
• Experience with aircraft performance and analysis predictions.
• Proficient in aerodynamic analysis techniques including hand calculations, vortex, lattice, panel methods, and CFD.
• Wind tunnel and flight test experience including data acquisition and analysis.
• Strong programming skills in MATLAB and Python for internal tool development.
• Experience preparing formal documentation (specifications, test procedures, reports).
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Aerodynamic design of unmanned air vehicles/missiles at all design maturities.
• Aerodynamic analysis of UAVs using low and high order methods.
• Develop and improve internal analysis tools as needed.
• Conduct stability and control analysis.
• Model and simulate aircraft performance.
• Generate aerodynamic loads for analysis and testing.
• Plan wind tunnel test campaigns and analyze results.
• Plan and execute flight test activities and analyses.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Aerodynamic design of unmanned air vehicles/missiles at conceptual, preliminary, and detail design maturities
• Aerodynamic analysis of unmanned air vehicles, using both low and high order methods
• including analysis tool development and improvement as needed
• Stability and control analysis
• Aircraft performance modeling and simulation
• Aerodynamic loads generation
• Wind tunnel test planning, execution, and analysis
• Flight test planning, execution, and analysis

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BS or higher degree in Aerospace Engineering
• 3+ work experience as an individual contributing engineer
• Experience with aircraft performance and analysis predictions
• Competent in a variety of aerodynamic analysis techniques including hand calculations, vortex, lattice methods, panel methods, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
• Wind tunnel and flight test experience including data acquisition, data analysis and project coordination
• Strong programming skills in higher-level languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python) for internal tool development in a version-controlled environment
• Experience preparing formal documentation (i.e., specifications, test procedures, technical reports, etc.)
• Passion for defending the United States and her allies
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

• Ice accretion or icing analysis experience
