Cape Fox subsidiary Eagle Health, LLC is seeking candidates for a Aerobiology, Animal Clinical Pathology and Telemetry (AAT) Senior Research Technician to support a government customer at Ft. Detrick. This position is contingent upon contract award.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this exempt position has been established at: $85,000 - $95,000.


The above salary range represents the company's good faith estimate of the compensation at the time of posting. Job Summary

The Employee shall support laboratory research by assisting with aerosol exposures, executing protocols, collecting data, maintaining laboratory space and equipment, and mentoring staff. Work will be conducted in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 labs with controlled substances, requiring BPRP and CS-PRP certifications.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  1. Generate, characterize, and sample biological aerosols supporting studies against biothreat agents, including animal plethysmography, bacterial and viral assays, with workload of 75-120 exposures per year.
  2. Investigate infection events in laboratory animals, support animal protocols, and manage associated logistics and data entry.
  3. Complete study activities per schedule, including sample processing and inventory management, in BSL-2, BSL-3, or BSL-4 environments, with up to 20 protocols annually.
  4. Perform assays such as ELISA, RT-PCR, microarray, cytokine analysis, and in vitro sample analysis.
  5. Conduct clinical pathology evaluations including hematology, chemistry, urine, fecal, and coagulation analyses.
  6. Assist with data entry, manuscript or poster preparation, and present research findings at scientific conferences as determined.
  7. Maintain laboratory space and equipment, document maintenance, and replenish supplies.
  8. Mentor and train team members according to SOPs and regulations.
  9. Develop and review SOPs, respond to audits and CAPAs, typically handling 10-15 SOPs and 5-15 CAPAs per year.
  10. Collaborate on technical training programs and demonstrate proficiency in telemetry system assembly, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  11. Maintain telemetry data, support telemetry studies, and ensure data security and analysis.
  12. Complete training requirements, perform routine laboratory and containment area cleaning, and report safety or SOP non-compliances.
  13. Provide animal support tasks such as observations, sample collection, and euthanasia, under PI guidance and in compliance with GLP standards.
  14. Report containment restrictions and coordinate task coverage with team members.
  15. Maintain CS-PRP and BPRP certifications as required by the contract and regulations.
