We are seeking an experienced TM2500, LM2500, and LM6000 I&C Controls Engineer to join Prismecs. As an I&C Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operation of plant facilities and equipment. Your responsibilities include ensuring the control, electrical, and instrumentation requirements of equipment inside the power plant meet statutory standards and function properly. This involves performance, commissioning, string tests, test bench preparation, functional tests, loop checks, troubleshooting, and non-conformity resolution, while maintaining coordination with technicians and software calibration. The I&C Controls Engineer will report to the Plant Manager or Team Leader.

Start Date: Immediately.

Location: On-site at a customer location.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform technical tasks onsite with expertise in turbine control systems (Woodward Micronet, Micronet +, Atlas, Mark V, Mark VI, Mark VIe, Mark VIeS, Bently Nevada 3500).
  2. Configure HMI using Wonderware, Cimplicity, and iFix.
  3. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environment regulations.
  4. Collaborate with HSE and follow directives.
  5. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to OEM manuals and best practices.
  6. Maintain high standards, report performance issues, and repair equipment as needed.
  7. Update maintenance records in logbooks, reports, and digital files.
  8. Ensure projects meet control, electrical, and instrumentation technical requirements.
  9. Report on project performance against OEM standards.
  10. Identify engineering deliverables and support O&M activities.
  11. Provide engineering support to ensure contractual power output and availability.
  12. Review and approve third-party control and instrumentation content.
  13. Coordinate with the Plant Manager on engineering scope changes and maintenance activities.
  14. Mentor and train operations personnel.
  15. Address equipment failure emergencies promptly.
  16. Propose essential parts, tools, and materials.
  17. Assist in inventory audits and material availability.
  18. Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  19. Operate SCADA, Protection, and Control Systems during shifts.
  20. Conduct routine inspections and report findings.
  21. Support other activities assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
  22. Contribute to team efforts and support other plant areas to meet operational goals.
  23. Work effectively in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment with minimal supervision.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with gas turbines, generators, electric motors, pumps, instruments, servomechanisms, actuators, fire-fighting systems, machinery.
  • Degree in Control, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Proficiency in English, Spanish, or French.
  • At least 5 years of experience in design, commissioning, and support.
  • Experience with Woodward Micronet, Atlas, Mark V/VI, Bently Nevada 3500, and HMI configuration tools.
  • Knowledge of ABB, ComAp, DEIF controls.
  • Experience with power system modeling packages (SKM, ETAP, EazyPower, CYME).
  • Familiarity with standards (CSA, NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI).
  • 3+ years in power plants (TM2500 / LM2500 / LM6000 or PGT25).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication, protection systems, predictive maintenance, and CMMS.
  • Basic understanding of HSE, ISO standards, and OHSAS 18001.
