Job summary

The Urban Foresters in Austin, TX are seeking a Tree Care Technician: Climber (Levels 1–4) to perform aerial tree care and removals with a focus on safety. You will climb, rig, and cut using chainsaws while protecting ground crew and property.

Responsibilities include gear inspection, adherence to ANSI Z133 standards, and maintaining situational awareness in the work area. A Texas driver’s license and emergency readiness training are required.

Qualifications

• Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs and perform strenuous work at height.
• Knowledge of ANSI Z133 safety standards for arboriculture.
• Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification and complete Aerial Rescue training.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and climbing competency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform aerial tree care and removals using climbing, rigging, and chainsaw techniques.
• Maintain awareness of drop zones, ground crew, and obstacles for safety.
• Inspect and maintain climbing gear, chainsaws, and pruners daily.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
