Job summary

ISG is seeking a Telecommunications Aerial Designer to join our Telecommunications + Utility team in Bloomington, MN. You will design aerial OSP routes, perform make-ready analyses, and prepare construction drawings while leveraging CAD/GIS tools and NESC guidelines.

Ideal candidates have a technical degree, experience with pole loading and joint-use projects, and strong collaboration skills to coordinate with utilities, survey crews, and construction partners. Domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of NESC clearance and loading rules.
• Experience with aerial OSP, joint-use, and make-ready design.
• Experience reading OSP construction prints and pole detail sheets.
• Proficiency with CAD/GIS tools and pole loading software.
• Valid driver's license.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce aerial fiber design and pole loading deliverables per NESC.
• Perform make-ready engineering and identify required pole changes.
• Develop pole attachment applications and supporting calculations.
• Run sag and tension analyses against NESC rules.
• Prepare construction-ready drawings and route prints in CAD/GIS.
• Coordinate with utility joint-use and permitting agencies.
• Travel to field data collection when needed.
