Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking an Aerial Lineman Trainee in North Carolina. You will support telecom construction, learn to assist Linemen, and gain hands-on experience with aerial and buried cable work in a safety-conscious team environment.

You will develop skills in pole climbing, bucket truck operations, and terminal connections while meeting quality standards and workplace safety expectations. This is a long-term on-site position with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Lineman and knowledge of aerial equipment.
• Comfortable in a bucket truck and climbing poles.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT medical card (CDL preferred).
• Basic experience in placing telecom cable (copper and fiber).

Responsibilities

• Support all phases of telecom construction.
• Learn to provide assistance to Lineman in duties.
• Assist in placing aerial/buried telecom cables (copper and fiber).
• Assist in connecting wires to terminals and hardware.
• Perform aerial tasks such as cable installs, pole transfers, and strand building.
• Perform construction work including digging, placing cable, and conduit work.
• Climb utility poles or use an aerial lift truck per design.
