Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking an Aerial Lineman Trainee to develop new skills in a safety-minded environment. You will support utility construction for telecom projects and learn to place and connect copper and fiber cables, work with poles, and operate aerial equipment.

Ideal candidates are hands-on, quality-focused, with a willingness to learn in a long-term project setting and hold a valid driver’s license (DOT medical card preferred; CDL may be required).

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the Lineman in completing duties.
• Assist in placing aerial/buried telecom cable (copper and fiber).
• Assist in connecting wires to terminals and hardware on poles/buildings.
• Perform aerial tasks: new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, lashing.
• Perform construction work: digging holes, placing cable, ducts in conduit systems.
• Climb utility poles and operate aerial lift trucks as required.
