Aerial Lineman - Hartford, CT area

TekCom Resources is seeking two Aerial Lineman in Hartford, CT area. Ideally, you will be a driven individual with an entrepreneurial spirit looking for a career opportunity with high-growth potential.

We’re looking for two skilled and safety-conscious Aerial Telecom Lineman to join our client’s small but growing team. As there are 2 roles we can accept someone a little more Junior to work alongside someone with more experience. Experience is necessary for both roles, but attitude is as important as aptitude.

In this role, you'll be responsible for the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecommunications infrastructure. Candidates with small cell/node experience highly preferred.

Role:

• Lash/de-lash cables, install strand, pull fiber, and perform terminations
• Interpret job prints, schematics, and work orders
• Ensure safe work zones and assist with traffic control (as required)
• Conduct equipment inspections and report issues promptly
• Responsible for helping with the overhead installation and/or repair of fiber optic cable.
• Responsible for daily safety and maintenance checks.
• Responsible for upholding standard of quality.
• Responsible for helping to set up job sites, traffic cones and signs.
• Must have the ability to climb poles, utilizing gaffs, ladder and a bucket truck to perform work.
• Responsible for job site clean-up and restoration.
• Follow all company safety, OSHA, and DOT policy

What will catch our eye:

• Proven experience in any overhead/underground construction
• Any Telecom Lineman experience
• CDL Class A or B license preferred
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks
• Familiarity with the 811 Call Before You Dig system and process

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Frequent walking, climbing, bending, and standing.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to pass background check, DMV and drug screening to drive a Company vehicle.

Work Schedule & Conditions:

• 40+ hours per week; occasional weekends or overtime may be required.
• Field-based role with travel to various job sites.
• Per diem or travel reimbursement may apply based on project location.
