Job summary

Fiber Network Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Aerial Lineman to join the Roanoke, VA team. You will work on HFC/Broadband projects, including BAU, spans, relocations, and new builds, reporting to Project Management.

The ideal candidate will read HFC maps, climb poles with Gaffs, ladders, and bucket trucks, and maintain safe coordination with the crew and surrounding traffic. A valid driver's license and ability to pass screenings are required.

Qualifications

• HFC design knowledge required.
• Able to read and understand technical instructions.
• Able to communicate effectively in a team environment.
• Occasional on-call for after-hours emergencies.
• Possession of a valid Driver's license.
• Must pass a drug screening.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Read HFC maps / prints to understand project scope.
• Climb poles using gaffs, ladder, and bucket truck.
• Maintain safe coordination with crew and nearby personnel and vehicles.
• Enforce safe working environments in public Right-of-Way.
• Produce post-construction as-built maps (red-lined PDFs).
• Provide daily production reports via email or Excel.
• Maintain aerial specifications when placing overhead lines.

Servicing Cox Communications, Comcast Cable, Segra and Suddenlink in the States of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and in Washington D.C., we are a trusted resource for cabling and maintaining high-speed internet connectivity via fiber optic and coaxial systems.

FNS is looking to hire experienced In-house Aerial Lineman to work with our Roanoke, VAteam. You'll join an existing team working many types of HFC/Broadband projects to include, BAU, spans, relos, Hyperbuild, Newbuild, Metro-E, etc. You will report to Project Management.

Job Responsibilities (But not limited to)

• Read HFC maps / prints to understand project scope
• Climb poles, utilizing Gaffs, Ladder and a Bucket Truck to perform work where required
• Maintain visual and vocal contact with other crew members as well as all moving or stationary people, vehicles, and objects in order to guarantee safe movement coordination.
• Recognize and enforce Safe working environments in Public Right-of-Way environments to include worksite traffic-control best practices.
• Produce accurate post-construction as-built mark-up maps. Typically, through red-lined PDF files.
• Provide daily production reports via email/excel or additional tracking methods.
• Maintaining aerial specifications when placing overhead lines.

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of HFC design
