Job summary

GTS in Georgia is seeking an Aerial Line Person to install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment. The role requires climbing poles, operating aerial lift devices, and working with coax, strand, and fiber networks. You will troubleshoot issues and ensure builds meet safety and quality standards.

Bucket trucks and basic tools are provided. Candidates should have a good driving record and be able to obtain a DOT medical certification.

Qualifications

• Must be able to climb poles and work at heights.
• Knowledge of coax cable, fiber, and telecom plant construction.
• Able to troubleshoot and identify issues in telecom systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair customer's telecommunications equipment.
• Access defined areas and use bucket trucks and placement equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems with lines and equipment.
• Work with minimal supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Job description

A successful Aerial Line Person (Aerial Construction Lineman) shall access specific areas to install, maintain, and/or repair a customer's telecommunications equipment. At a minimum, the position requires a good working knowledge of telecommunications construction; familiarity with aerial lift devices, utility lines and poles, and the functionality of each; ability to use cable placement equipment... and tools; ability to identify and troubleshoot problems.

Requirements

• Must be 21 or older
• Have a good driving record
• Able to pass Background and Drug screening
• Able to obtain DOT Medical Certification
• Able to work with minimal supervision and complete tasks assigned in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Able to climb poles as needed
• Able to splice coax cable
• Able to build aerial plants to include strand, coax, and/or fiber
• Able to complete pole transfers
