About This Role
The Aerial Lineman performs skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, and operation of underground and overhead telecommunications plant outdoors. Using various construction equipment, Aspen Aerial Linemen install, operate, maintain, inspect, and repair CATV lines including Strand, Fiber, and Coax.

What You'll Do

  • Install, operate, maintain, and repair overhead telecommunications plant
  • Read and interpret engineering plans
  • Access installation and construction points as required
  • Locate/troubleshoot telecommunication cables and wires
  • Utilize standard communication tools
  • Operate and maintain construction vehicles and equipment, including hydraulic aerial lifts and truck-mounted ladders
  • Perform maintenance on telecommunication equipment
  • Respond to emergency calls
  • Maintain line vehicles and equipment
  • Keep detailed daily records of work activity
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2+ years of telecommunication experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Clean background check for access to restricted areas
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screens
  • Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card
  • Adherence to permit and DOT requirements

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of materials and tools used in line work
  • Understanding of separation and clearance regulations
  • Proficiency in new build, coax, & fiber installation and pole transfers
  • Dependability and trustworthiness
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to operate construction equipment and machinery safely
  • Work nights and weekends if necessary
  • Carry 75-80 lbs., including extension ladders
  • Work at heights of 20+ feet
  • Perform physical activities including bending, standing, sitting, crawling, climbing, and lifting
  • Work in various weather conditions
  • Work independently or as part of a team
