Job summary

Sunrise Telecom Inc. is seeking an Aerial Construction Lineman (Traveling) to construct strand infrastructure and lash fiber cables to strand. The role requires operating bucket trucks and related equipment, setting up job sites, and adhering to OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities include reading network prints, framing poles, and safely climbing poles while maintaining clearances from utilities. Travel and schedule flexibility for nights and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Must be able to pass drug, background, DOT & MVR screenings.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate bucket truck and other equipment related to aerial fiber construction.
• Set up the job (strand trailer, fiber trailer and caddies) efficiently.
• Maintain safe clearances from utilities, roadways, and nonpedestrian areas.
• Frame poles according to industry specifications.
• Lash/over-lash fiber cable bundles.
• Read and interpret network prints.
• Climb poles safely using gaffs or ladders.
• Follow OSHA safety requirements to complete jobs safely and efficiently.
• Communicate by phone with crew leader and respond to directions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

General Job Summary

To construct strand infrastructure and lash fiber cables to strand.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Operating bucket truck as well as other equipment related to aerial fiber construction
• Understand how to proficiently set up the job (strand trailer, fiber trailer and caddies)
• Understand clearances from the other utilities, ground, road, highway, sidewalk and nonpedestrian areas
• Knowledge and ability to properly frame poles according to industry specifications
• Ability to lash/over-lash single and multiple cable bundles of fiber cables
• Ability to read and interpret network prints
• Ability to safely climb poles using gaffs or ladders
• Understand and follow OSHA safety requirements to complete the job(s) safely and efficiently
• Communicate by phone frequently throughout the work dayFollow direction(s) specifically delivered from crew leader
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Combination of technical training and/or experience
• 1 year of relevant experience
• Previous experience in a construction environment preferred
• Must be able to meet physical requirement of the position
• Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to pass drug, background, DOT & MVR screenings
