Job summary

First Class Healthcare Staffing Management, LLC seeks an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) to support correctional healthcare facilities in Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on pre-intake screening, data collection of medical history and vital signs, and acting as a primary emergency responder under provider guidance.

You will administer a limited list of emergency medications, maintain secure medication areas, and collaborate with RNs, LPNs and other staff to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Advanced EMT (AEMT) program.
• At least one year of related emergency medical or clinical experience.
• Must have and maintain current AEMT licensure in GA or AL.
• Must have or attain a BLS Certification prior to your first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial intake screening by gathering medical history and capturing baseline vital signs.
• Acts as a primary emergency responder and performs basic life support as needed.
• Administers a limited list of approved emergency medications within the AEMT scope.
• Ensures patient safety by securing medications and maintaining a clean, organized area.
• Reports adverse events and collaborates with licensed staff during care.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to facility policies and regulations.
