Job summary

Excelsior Ambulance Service seeks an Advanced EMT (AEMT) for a part-time role in Alabama. Under Division Manager, provide emergency medical care per laws and service policies. You will work with Paramedic protocols and support a professional EMS team on duty.

The position requires current EMT or AEMT license, BLS and NREMT credentials for SC/AL, valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a Physical Agility Test. Location: Tuscaloosa, AL.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• State EMT/EMT-I/AEMT license.
• State Driver’s License.
• BLS, NREMT (SC & AL).
• Driving record in compliance with company policy.
• Pass Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine best action following progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize EMT skills on medical equipment and procedures for patient care.
• Document patient information, condition and treatment with confidentiality.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance of care.
• Act as EMS team member and manage scene and unit as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on emergency responses.
• Collaborate professionally with allied health and public safety personnel.
