JOB SUMMARY

Under administrative supervision, the AEC Counselor provides academic and career counseling to adult learners, including transcript evaluation, graduation planning, and guidance on college and career pathways.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Using college and career inventories, guide adult learners towards graduation and career planning ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Assist adult learners with the completion of FAFSA.
• Assist in the development of adult learning policies and procedures.
• Participate in AEC, Goodwill and select Nebraska Department of Education meetings as requested.
• Participate in local, state, and national professional organizations.
• Collect data and complete necessary reports for Goodwill, NDE, and charitable funders.
• Review student transcripts to assess and confirm eligible credits.
• Assist in the development of Individual Academic Advancement Plans based on students’ experience and needs.
• Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers, and participants.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Master's degree required
• Two (2) or more years of proven experience in the educational field preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Nebraska teaching/counseling certificate with endorsement in the assigned subject and content area required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
