Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Advocate to deliver direct advocacy services for youth and their families in Alameda County. You will initiate and develop individualized service plans using a wrap-around approach and maintain strong partnerships with schools, communities, and families.

The role requires dependable, committed individuals who can serve as positive role models. Flexible hours, mileage reimbursement, and weekly pay are provided.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience working with youth, especially those from at-risk backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of community resources and support services.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations of staff, children, and families in a collaborative and culturally sensitive manner.
  • Provide quality documentation, progress notes, and submit within required deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with an electronic health record system is a plus.
  • Position may require use of personal laptop and/or desktop computer.
  • Position requires insured reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance coverage.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) applicants are a plus.

Summary of the Position: Hourly, Full-time position serving youth and families throughout Alameda County is available.

  • Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in community, school, and home settings.
  • The primary responsibilities of the Advocates are to initiate, organize, plan, develop, and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
  • All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap-around model
  • This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, mileage and activity reimbursement.
  • Participants age range from 14-21 year of age
  • Males are highly encouraged to apply!
