Job summary

World Relief seeks an Advocacy Specialist to engage with churches, pastors, and community members to advocate for pro-immigrant policies aligned with WR’s positions. This is a hybrid role with 4 days in the office and 1 remote.

The role focuses on organizing advocacy events, representing WR at hearings, coordinating content with marketing, and building coalitions to advance WR’s policy goals across the state.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years in public policy or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to World Relief's mission and values.
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Organize and attend targeted advocacy events across the state.
• Represent the organization at hearings, committee meetings, and public forums.
• Coordinate with marketing to produce advocacy content.
• Build relationships with churches, policymakers, coalitions, and partners.
• Develop and implement advocacy strategies and campaigns.
• Monitor legislation and prepare policy briefs and reports.
• Maintain records and track metrics for partnerships.
• Train and support communities in advocacy efforts.
• Engage in negotiations with government officials as a registered lobbyist.
• Steward relationships with advocacy funders and renewals.
