Job summary

State of North Carolina - Health & Human Services seeks an Advocate I for Central Regional Hospital to provide advocacy, monitor rights compliance, and train facility staff. The role supports customers’ dignity, safety, care and habilitation while navigating statutes and standards.

This full-time position includes a standard Mon–Fri 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule with a 24-hour on-call rotation and generous state benefits, including health insurance and retirement options.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with two years of relevant experience (or equivalent).
  • Bachelor’s degree with three years of relevant experience (or equivalent).
  • Equivalent education/experience combinations considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advocacy services to facility staff and customers.
  • Monitor, consult, and train staff on rights issues and compliance.
  • Respond to complaints and investigate alleged rights violations.
