Overview

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s largest small business advocacy organization, looks to hire an Advocacy Coordinator to join its Advocacy team.

Responsibilities

The Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the SVP of Advocacy and coordinating campaigns and other projects. This includes scheduling, meeting planning and management, travel arrangements when necessary, and inter-office coordination and communication. The Advocacy coordinator also serves as a conduit between the subdepartments within the Advocacy department, including Federal and State Government Relations, Public Affairs, Political and Grassroots, and the Research Center.

Proactively coordinate timelines and workflow across Advocacy functions and communicate progress to the Senior Vice President of Advocacy, project stakeholders, and other NFIB departments.

Highly organized with the ability to plan effectively, handle multiple, shifting priorities under tight deadlines, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Perform other duties and projects as needed.

Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; work outcomes must meet and/or exceed productivity and quality standards. Must be able to work as part of a cooperative team environment and independent of direct supervision; adhere to Company and Department policies and procedures. Performs other projects as needed.

Role is hybrid from our Washington DC office.

Salary range for the role - $64,000- $72,000.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 2 years relevant experience. Project coordination is helpful.
  2. Experience on Capitol Hill is a plus.
  3. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organization, analytical, and time management abilities necessary for workload assignment tracking, development of timelines, management of strategic calendars, and budget/program expense monitoring.
  4. Professionalism, confidentiality, initiative, and sound judgement are essential. Must be flexible team player with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under pressure.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and internet tools including search engines.
