Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a degree program and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship.
  • Rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Zoom.

Responsibilities

  • Apply strategic and analytical thinking to promote AARP WA policy issues.
  • Assist community engagement activities, event planning, and partner coordination.
  • Research policy issues and draft documents; participate in meetings and tactics.
  • Design basic visuals for events and promotions (flyers, images).
  • Develop knowledge and compile information on priority issues.
  • Coordinate volunteer outreach, attend meetings, and handle correspondence.
  • Provide excellent customer service and build relationships with partners.
