Overview

We are seeking a full-time Multifamily Asset Manager with experience in receiverships to work in Detroit, Michigan.

Responsibilities
  • Assess potential issues at properties, including site visits to document maintenance and safety concerns.
  • Coordinate with the court-appointed receiver to take control of properties, ensure insurance policies are in place, and retain property management.
  • Manage distressed multifamily assets during receivership, focusing on resolving deferred maintenance and improving performance.
  • Prepare detailed reports for lenders post-takeover, including property condition and operational issues.
  • Work with property management to improve occupancy, tenant retention, and rental income.
  • Identify capital improvements to maintain property value and tenant satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular site inspections.
  • Provide guidance to lenders and their counsel regarding property status.
  • Develop exit strategies aimed at preparing assets for sale.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, business administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years in real estate investment, property, or asset management.
  • Experience as an asset manager or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of the multifamily market, leasing, and legal considerations.
  • Data analysis and trend identification skills.
  • Ability to lead property management teams.
  • Familiarity with receivership procedures and court regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software like Yardi.
