Advisory Services Consultant, Sr. Associate

Job Title: Advisory Services Consultant, Sr. Associate

The primary responsibility of the Consultant is to support the design and delivery athenahealth’s consulting services. The consulting services are designed to enhance the financial and business performance of athenaIDX clients, either through direct project execution and/or the management of a team executing these projects. The range of responsibilities includes the scoping, design, and delivery of consulting engagements aimed at addressing a variety of business issues related to workflow optimization, organizational design, training, application support, operations support, and custom analytics. In the performance of these responsibilities, the Consultant may be assigned to one or multiple consulting engagements simultaneously and play a key role in delivering individual project results and deliverables.

This position reports to our Director, Advisory Services and is a full-time remote work position with up to 10-15% travel.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Review AS deliverables to ensure outcome focus, accuracy and general professionalism
  • Manage the delivery of consulting engagements while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction (including independently developing, managing and owning overall project plan, timelines for key deliverables, and staff utilization)
  • Partner with internal departments when needed to resolve client requests and escalations.
  • Build effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, peers and athenistas across various levels and departments.
  • Meet departmental timelines, NPS goals, billability/productivity, SLAs and other Advisory Services metrics.
  • Support the ongoing refinement of a suite of consulting offerings in collaboration with other internal departments to ensure alignment with overall athenahealth product, marketing, and service strategies
  • Perform analyses, summarize findings, generate client deliverables, and present reports to clients as needed and in support of consulting engagements
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 4-7 years of professional experience
  • Rev cycle product / service knowledge; deep functional/technical expertise with athenaIDX
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Practice administrator/manager/ IT and/or consulting experience preferred

Skills required:

  • Excellent communication skills and effective networking with a broad base of internal and external constituents
  • Ability to manage numerous detail-intensive, interdependent, and time-sensitive tasks and ensure the accurate completion of the same
  • Aptitude for engineering processes, tools and roles(s) to improve organizational scalability, redesign, and/or re-engineering
