Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a relevant degree.
  • Current GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Fluency with AI concepts/tools and ability to apply AI techniques to data.
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques.
  • Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking and agility.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel emphasized) and ability to learn KPMG tools.
  • Strong communication, organization and relationship-building skills.
  • Residency commutable to the office; own transportation required.
  • US work location may be office, client sites, or remote; US residency required.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of Cybersecurity and Technology Risk client engagements through assigned tasks.
  • Identify and remediate tech, business and cyber challenges using KPMG frameworks and AI/automation tools.
  • Research technology risk topics and processes to support client delivery.
  • Assist with identity/access management, GRC, security design/implementation, and IT risk assessments.
  • Develop risk management strategies for technology environments, including incident response planning.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to align risk analysis with technology strategies.
  • Stay updated on emerging technology risks and best practices to support proactive risk mitigation.
  • Prepare reports/presentations on technology risks and recommended solutions.
  • Maintain integrity and professionalism in all interactions.

KPMG is currently seeking an Advisory Intern, Risk Services – Technology for our Advisory practice.

Responsibilities
  • Help support the delivery of Cybersecurity and Technology Risk client engagements through the execution of assigned tasks based on the engagement objectives
  • Help identify and remediate complex business, technology and cyber challenges leveraging KPMG frameworks and methodologies, inclusive of leveraging artificial intelligence and automation tools and technologies in delivering client projects
  • Research and understand technology risk and cyber security related topics, concepts, tools and processes to support client delivery
  • May provide support with some of the following areas: identity & access management, GRC, design and/or implementation of infrastructure/platform/software security, IT risk and security assessment (inclusive of major enterprise applications (SAP, Oracle, Workday, ServiceNow) and technical infrastructure), data protection and privacy impact assessment, data classification or information governance, enterprise information security strategy, compliance monitoring and user awareness campaign, data leakage/content monitoring and filtering or data encryption and compliance readiness
  • Develop and implement specialized risk management strategies tailored to technology environments, including cybersecurity risk assessments and incident response plans
  • Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to align risk analysis with technology strategies and ensure risk management measures are integrated into technology operations
  • Research and stay updated on emerging technology risks and industry best practices in order to provide proactive recommendations for risk mitigation and continuous improvement in technology systems and processes
  • Prepare and deliver detailed reports and presentations on technology risks and recommended solutions to clients and internal teams, ensuring information is accessible and actionable
  • Operate with integrity, professionalism and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Analytics, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, IT/Technology, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university
  • Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Fluency with artificial intelligence concepts and tools with ability to apply AI techniques to analyze and interpret data, using insights to solve problems and effectively communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques
  • Strong in technical, business acumen, critical thinking and agility skills; demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach, in a dynamic, evolving environment
  • Ability to leverage common business technologies, including MS Office (with an emphasis on Excel) and AI, and quickly learn KPMG tools and applications used by our clients
  • Strong communication, organization and relationship-building skills, with the ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism, manage priorities across multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work in a professional services capacity
  • Must reside within a commutable distance of the office for this position and be responsible for your own transportation, such as personal vehicle or public transportation, to get to and from office / client locations to satisfactorily fulfill your job duties, as determined by your practice leadership
  • Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business need. You must be located within the U.S. when working remotely. Client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay.
