KPMG is seeking an Advisory Intern, Risk Services to join our Advisory practice. The role involves understanding forensic technology, assisting with data collection and processing, and applying analytics to support investigations and regulatory matters.

The internship requires enrollment in a related program, a minimum GPA, and familiarity with AI concepts, cloud tech, and MS Office. Work location may be in-office, client sites, or remote based on business needs.

Qualifications

KPMG is currently seeking an Advisory Intern, Risk Services to join our Advisory practice.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of forensic technology and eDiscovery platforms used to collect, process, analyze, review and produce electronic data in support of investigations, regulatory matters, litigation and other forensic engagements
• Assist engagement teams with data collection, processing, hosting and production activities throughout the lifecycle of eDiscovery and forensic technology projects; research emerging technologies, industry trends and forensic methodologies to help enhance service offerings and engagement delivery
• Leverage technology, data analytics and automation tools to support forensic investigations, anti-money laundering reviews, fraud examinations, compliance matters and other risk-focused engagements
• Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends, anomalies and relevant insights that support client objectives and investigative findings; assist in evaluating, troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges related to data processing workflows, analytics tools and forensic technology solutions
• Support the preparation and delivery of presentations, demonstrations and training sessions related to forensic technology, eDiscovery and data analytics solutions for clients and internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of forensic specialists, data analysts, investigators and technology professionals to solve complex business challenges

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Statistics, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Data Science or equivalent program
• Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.0 or above
• Fluency with artificial intelligence concepts and tools with ability to apply AI techniques to analyze and interpret data, using insights to solve problems and effectively communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Knowledge and awareness of technologies such digital forensics, programming languages, cloud technologies and information systems; strong in technical, business acumen, critical thinking and agility skills; demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach, in a dynamic, evolving environment
• Ability to leverage common business technologies, including MS Office (with an emphasis on Excel) and AI and quickly learn KPMG tools and applications used by our clients; strong communication, organization and relationship-building skills, with the ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism, manage priorities across multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work in a professional services capacity
• Must reside within a commutable distance of the office for this position and be responsible for your own transportation, such as personal vehicle or public transportation, to get to and from office / client locations to satisfactorily fulfill your job duties, as determined by your practice leadership
• Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business need; you must be located within the U.S. when working remotely; client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay
