Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Privacy & Data Protection Intern in Houston to assist with privacy maturity assessments, PIAs, and governance tasks. You will learn from experienced professionals and contribute to client projects and internal initiatives.

Qualifications include current enrollment in a relevant bachelor’s program; strong Excel and writing skills; ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and build relationships with internal teams and clients. Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with privacy maturity assessments and PIAs for client systems and activities
• Assists with managed service client tasks and socializes meeting outcomes
• Documents client meetings and contributes to client reports and deliverables
• Supports project tasks related to privacy projects and data governance
• Collects information for privacy processing registers and data inventories
• Travels as necessary and supports multiple projects concurrently

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Privacy & Data Protection Intern will learn about the basics of privacy and data protection risks, will be engaged to assist with client projects, and internal initiatives. The Intern will work alongside other experienced professionals where they will conduct data privacy, data governance, or AI governance assessments, develop policies and procedures, implement privacy technology, and support other managed service projects. The individual in this role will be involved with operationalizing client processes, policies, and controls.

Job Duties

• Assists with conducting privacy maturity assessments based on privacy regulations or frameworks
• Assists with conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) of client systems, vendors, or processing activities
• Assists with managed service client tasks
• Documents client meetings to socialize with the team following the meeting
• Supports individual project tasks related to privacy projects
• Assists the team with developing client reports, including findings and recommendations
• Assists with developing project deliverables
• Collects information for privacy processing registers and data inventories
• Conducts research for client projects to ensure that they receive the most up to date solutions available on the market
• Budgets time and assists with multiple project requests simultaneously, as well as the ability to monitor project tasks and risks
• Travel required as necessary
• Other duties as required

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

Illinois Range: $36.00/hr - $40.00/hr

Minnesota Range: $32.00/hr - $36.00/hr

NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $36.00/hr - $40.00/hr

Ohio Range: $33.00/hr - $37.00/hr

Washington DC Range: $34.00/hr - $38.00/hr
