Responsibilities

  • Implement and operate security controls for AI platforms, cloud environments and AI-enabled apps.

  • Develop standards, playbooks and monitoring for the AI Trust & Safety Operations Center.
  • Collaborate with CSO AI Security and Responsible AI teams for governance and reviews.
  • Support detection, investigation, triage and response to AI security incidents and model threats.
  • Partner with Product Security, Cloud Engineering, IT Security and AI teams to deploy secure-by-design practices.
  • Develop security automation, policy-as-code and continuous compliance.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel (approx. 5-20%).

Description and Requirements

This position sits within Lenovo’s AI Governance and Product Security organization in the Chief AI Office, supporting the secure and responsible use of AI in product development.

Working across Lenovo’s businesses and product areas, the organization ensures AI tools meet company standards and international regulations, and that products follow industry security best practices.

The Advisory Engineer, AI Security will work with AI and security leaders to define and lead security architecture and assurance for AI models, AI-enabled products and AI development platforms. This includes establishing secure-by-design patterns, conducting security and model assurance reviews, developing technical standards and remediation guidance, and driving consistent adoption across global product and internal AI initiatives.

The role combines strategic thinking, technical expertise and delivery leadership to translate AI security strategy, risk findings and standards into prioritised actions, practical controls, measurable outcomes and sustained adoption across engineering teams.

Hands-on experience designing security architectures and integrating AI systems with enterprise security tools across cloud environments, APIs and data pipelines is essential, alongside a strong passion for AI, technology and engineering excellence, and a belief in building security through people, processes and scalable technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and operationalize security controls, monitoring, and policy enforcement capabilities for AI platforms, cloud environments and AI-enabled applications.
  • Integrate enterprise security capabilities into AI development platforms, cloud environments, APIs and CI/CD pipelines through automation and DevSecOps practices.
  • Develop and maintain operational standards, playbooks and monitoring capabilities supporting the AI Trust & Safety Operations Center.
  • Collaborate with the CSO AI Security and Responsible AI teams to implement governance, continuous monitoring and AI security reviews.
  • Support the detection, investigation, triage, and response to AI-related security incidents, vulnerabilities, misuse, and model threats.
  • Partner with Product Security, Cloud Engineering, IT Security and AI engineering teams to operationalize secure-by-design AI practices.
  • Develop security automation, policy-as-code and continuous compliance.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel (approx. 5-20%) for meetings and collaboration.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex security initiatives from assessment and design through implementation, validation and operational handover, with measurable adoption and risk-reduction outcomes.
  • Experience leading security architecture reviews, threat modelling and remediation throughout the software or product development lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of AI security threats and mitigations.
  • Experience designing or assessing security controls across cloud environments, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, identity and access management, and data flows.
  • Ability to translate security findings and standards into prioritised technical requirements, clear delivery plans and actionable remediation guidance for engineering teams.
  • Ability to participate in incident response and product security operations as required.
  • Relevant security certifications are advantageous.
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, mathematics or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in product security, application security, cloud security, security engineering or a closely related discipline.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The anticipated initial gross base salary range for this position is 37,800–55,440EURper year. This range applies to the primary job location Slovakiaand is determined using objective, non-discriminatory and gender-neutral criteria, including skills and relevant experience. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, skills, and business considerations.

Individuals may also be eligible for variable compensation (such as bonus or commission), depending on the role. The applicable variable pay model, eligibility, and target levels will be discussed during the recruitment process.

In addition to base salary and any applicable variable compensation, Lenovo provides statutory remuneration components required by local law, as well as Lenovo's comprehensive benefits package supporting employee well-being, development, and equal opportunities.
