Job description

Datos Insights' Wealth Management practice provides mission-critical insights into the strategy, technology, and regulatory trends impacting wealth management firms, their financial advisors, and their clients, empowering them to stay on the forefront of change. The practice serves a diverse client base, including banks, broker-dealers, insurance companies, asset managers, independent advisors, technology vendors, and professional services firms.

As an Advisor, you will be a trusted partner to senior executives, providing strategic guidance and actionable insights based on proprietary data, benchmarks and research and industry best practices. This role requires strong relationship management skills and the ability to translate complex data and research into practical, high-impact recommendations. The ideal candidate derives joy from working with clients and helping them solve interesting problems.

What You'll Do

Client Engagement and Advisory

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior executives, understand their business challenges and provide data-driven recommendations. You are most likely to work with leadership teams at bank wealth managers and trust companies.
  • Learn the ins and outs of Datos Wealth Management benchmarking studies (pricing, financial, and compensation data) and connect clients’ data to the business model story behind their peer positioning.
  • Deliver compelling insights through one-on-one briefings and presentations at the executive level; occasionally participating in client offsite meetings, industry conferences and roundtables, and similar events.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with sales and account management teams to translate client-specific findings into renewal and expansion dialogue.
  • Partner with sales on pre-sales calls and creating compelling collateral to drive new business development.
  • Partner with account management teams and research teams to drive participation in benchmarking studies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine product offerings and enhance value delivery.

Thought Leadership

  • Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging challenges.
  • Work closely with research and product teams to ensure product quality.
  • Support the research team in an advisory, editorial, or oversight capacity across major stages of content development, especially where the content is built off of findings from our datasets. Examples: determining scope, hypothesis formulation, and other research design tasks, as well as standard content creation activities - storyboarding, visualizations, writing and editing.
  • Serve as an author and/or contributor for secondary deliverables.
Requirements
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop relationships with business leaders.
  • Subject matter knowledge in asset management or wealth management, including working within a financial services firm or previous experience as an advisor or consultant. At least four years of work experience preferred.
  • Business acumen and understanding of corporate strategy, operations, and leadership challenges.
  • Ability to tell a story with data and produce compelling material that captures senior executives’ attention.
  • Comfortable with quantitative analysis, especially with the interpretation of key findings (e.g., can differentiate between meaningful and spurious data, can explain methodologies and concepts to non-experts; good pattern recognition abilities).
  • Intermediate Excel skills a plus.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce/CRM.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%.
