Position Brand Description:

The Lilly API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) Dry Product Network is expanding rapidly, with new greenfield sites under construction to meet increasing demand. These sites are staffed for steady-state production, but additional surge capacity is needed for startup phases to ramp up quickly. The ADN RAMP team is a cross-functional group providing manufacturing expertise, operational excellence, troubleshooting, and surge support during site startups. This role offers the opportunity to work at new sites, expand the Lilly network, develop technical and leadership skills, and help accelerate site startup processes to serve more patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the transfer of new molecules into production at Lilly sites.
  2. Utilize expertise to improve peptide purification processes.
  3. Establish robust, cost-effective manufacturing methodologies for rapid transition into production.
  4. Ensure processes meet manufacturing and regulatory standards.
  5. Build strong relationships with R&D and plant teams to ensure success.
  6. Lead multidisciplinary teams in process development and mentor junior staff.
  7. Participate in scientific governance and oversight teams.
  8. Provide technical oversight for product optimization projects.
  9. Lead technical projects to improve process control, yield, and productivity.
  10. Demonstrate ability to solve manufacturing problems and support production at various scales.
  11. Work with diverse teams across locations and supply chains.
  12. Understand interactions between drug substance/formulation and equipment.
  13. Support regulatory activities, including technical reports and interactions with agencies.
Basic Requirements:
  • BSc/MSc/PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • 10+ years industrial experience with BSc; 5+ years with MSc/PhD.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operational excellence principles.
