As advisor, public policy, you will help advance Starbucks public policy and advocacy work on workforce, benefits, economic development, and related issues that impact our partners, our business, and the communities we serve. • Develop clear advocacy materials, including executive briefings, policy memos, talking points, testimony, comment letters, and legislative updates.
  • Partner across business teams to align on policy positions and engagement strategies.
  • Conduct advocacy activity in alignment with lobbying, ethics, disclosure, and political compliance requirements.
We'd love to hear from people with:
  • Five or more years of experience in public policy, government affairs, legislative affairs, or related roles, preferably with experience in workforce, economic development, or related policy issues.
  • Industry experience in food & beverage, retail, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes at the federal, state, or local level, with experience engaging policymakers or external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Practiced facilitator with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and with others.
  • Self-starter with excellent judgment and high integrity.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred in political science, public policy, communications, or a related field.
