Job Summary
The Advisor, Global Trade Compliance - Valuation will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support on valuation matters related to global trade compliance. This role involves ensuring the company's import and export activities adhere to all relevant valuation regulations and requirements, and mitigating compliance risks. The advisor will work closely with various internal teams, including finance, supply chain, and legal, as well as external customs brokers and authorities.
Responsibilities
Valuation Expertise : Serve as the subject matter expert on customs valuation, providing guidance on valuation methods, transfer pricing, and related issues.
Compliance : Ensure compliance with valuation regulations and requirements in various countries, including but not limited to, related party transactions, yearly US Reconciliation preparation and transmission, global retroactive pricing adjustments, participation with US DOL Bureau of Labor Statics, as well as identifying, quantifying, and declaring statutory additions to value (assists, royalties, etc).
Audit Support : Support internal and external audits related to customs valuation, ensuring that documentation is accurate and readily available.
Training and Development : Develop and deliver training programs on customs valuation to internal stakeholders to enhance their understanding of valuation principles and requirements.
Documentation : Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all valuation-related activities, including valuation rulings, transfer pricing studies, and customs declarations.
Collaboration : Collaborate with internal teams, such as finance, supply chain, and legal, to ensure that valuation considerations are integrated into business processes and system logic.
Risk Management : Identify and assess valuation-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential liabilities.
Customs Brokers : Manage relationships with customs brokers and other external service providers to ensure accurate and timely customs declarations.
Updates : Stay up-to-date with changes in customs valuation regulations and best practices, and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as international trade, accounting, finance, or supply chain management preferred
4+ years of experience in global trade compliance with a focus on customs valuation preferred
In-depth knowledge of customs valuation methods, transfer pricing principles, and international trade regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to specific situations.
Strong skills with Excel and complex/large sets of data.
Proficiency in using trade compliance software and tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Anticipated salary range: $79,700 - $113,800
