Job summary

ArentFox Schiff is seeking a Staff Attorney for its nationally recognized Advertising & Promotions practice in San Francisco. The role focuses on advising clients on advertising and marketing law, including claim substantiation, consumer protection, and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have experience with FTC, FDA, NAD/NARB/CARU matters and a background supporting consumer products, retail, technology, food & beverage, health and wellness, or media clients.

Overview

• The firm's nationally recognized Advertising & Promotions practice supports major national and international brands across a broad range of advertising, marketing, and promotional matters.
• This Staff Attorney role is non-partnership-track.
• Key responsibilities include advising clients on advertising and marketing law, specifically claim substantiation, consumer protection, unfair competition issues, compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements, sweepstakes and promotions, influencer and social media marketing, and review of advertising and marketing materials.
• Experience counseling clients on FTC, FDA, and state attorney general investigations and enforcement matters, as well as proceedings before the National Advertising Division (NAD), National Advertising Review Board (NARB), and Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU), is considered a strong plus.
• The practice particularly encourages candidates with experience supporting clients in the consumer products, retail, technology, food and beverage, health and wellness, or media industries.
• Essential skills include strong analytical, drafting, and client counseling abilities.
