Job Title: Advertising/Marketing Designer

Key Responsibilities

Advertising & Production Design

• Manage advertising production workflows for all IBJ Media publications
• Partner with sales reps to collect, troubleshoot, and, if needed, reject ad files that do not meet specifications
• Attend weekly team sales meetings to communicate with the team on outstanding ads, projects and full any needs that may come up
• Design, update, and edit annual Media Kits and sales flyers
• Design ads for clients and internal ad use
• Layout custom publications (e.g., Thought Leadership, Giving Guide, Career Ready)

Event & Marketing Design

• Create visual assets for 30+ annual IBJ Media events, including:
• Design campaign assets for email and social media promotions
• Collaborate with marketing team and other designers to concept and create content that drives engagement
• Coordinate with teams across Advertising, Marketing, Editorial, Circulation, and Engineering
• Provide technical design support and software expertise internally
• Track tasks and deadlines using Asana and Magazine Manager
• Develop mockups for newsletters and websites in collaboration with Engineering
• Manage branded materials and corporate stationery
• Offer backup design support for editorial and production teams as needed
• Upload final publications to printers and review production proofs

Qualifications & Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Comfortable in a Mac environment; proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong grasp of digital design, web best practices, and WordPress (basic HTML a plus)
• Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana)
• Excellent organization, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
• Video editing experience is a plus
• Prior experience in an agency or newsroom-style environment preferred
