Motion Recruitment is seeking a Financial Crimes Screening Analyst to support adverse media and negative news screening in Charlotte, NC or Des Moines, IA on a 6-month contract. You will assess potential risks and document rationales for decision-making.

The role requires 2+ years in name screening, due diligence, and strong writing skills. You will collaborate with teams, perform research, and ensure timely delivery of screening results while maintaining compliance standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of name screening experience related to financial crimes, regulatory matters, or risk identification.
• Ability to read and interpret adverse media and identify subject, alerting party, and the alerting party’s role in an article.
• Research and investigative due diligence experience, including validating article details and identifying missing data attributes.
• Ability to document screening rationale clearly and concisely.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word products.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess adverse media for potential material financial crimes risk.
• Execute due diligence screening within established time frames.
• Exercise independent judgment on medium-risk screening deliverables.
• Research and validate adverse-media information and escalated results when appropriate.
• Support screening operations, including workflow management, data gathering, and analysis.
• Apply knowledge of screening functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with peers, managers, and internal and external customers to resolve screening and production issues.
• Analyze screening processes and controls to identify improvement opportunities.
• Participate in screening process improvement initiatives and focus groups.
• Support senior consultants with training facilitation, quality reviews, and post-training support for new screening consultants.
• Aggregate, evaluate, and report screening results and escalated issues when necessary.
