Job summary

Natural Habitat Adventures, based in Boulder, Colorado, seeks an Air Travel Specialist to arrange flights for field staff and internal travel. The role is full-time, exempt and hybrid, with in-office presence in Boulder and travel coordination across global teams.

Responsibilities include designing itineraries, managing group air bookings, and handling schedule changes, with emphasis on accuracy and timely communication.

Qualifications

• Proficient use of Amadeus or an alternative GDS for international and domestic ticketing, exchanges, and refunds (3+ years’ experience strongly desired).
• Background in travel or hospitality industry with experience in travel logistics preferred.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Windows and MS Word, Excel and Outlook; FileMaker experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of worldwide geography and airport codes.
• BA/BS degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design flight itineraries for inbound air requests and internal travel.
• Manage group air bookings, contracts, fares, deadlines and ticketing requirements.
• Create air requests based on field team schedules.
• Learn airline change and cancellation policies to choose the best option.
• Purchase advance seating via GDS or airline sites.
• Handle schedule changes, cancellations, seat changes and travel issues.
• Send updated confirmations to staff when changes occur.
• Provide support during high-volume periods.
• Ticket international and domestic flights via Amadeus GDS.
• Understand airline commissions and refunds.
