Primary Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Visual Communications (40%)
- Design digital and print materials for donor, alumni, and engagement initiatives.
- Create graphics for email campaigns, social media, presentations, newsletters, and event promotions.
- Assist with developing donor recognition and stewardship materials.
- Maintain brand consistency and alignment with university and college guidelines.
- Edit and format photos, graphics, and other visual assets.
Event Planning & Support (35%)
- Assist with planning and executing alumni, donor, and college events.
- Support event logistics, registration, nametag preparation, venue setup, and event materials.
- Help coordinate attendee communications and event follow-up.
- Provide onsite support during events, including guest check-in and hospitality.
- Assist with post-event reporting and stewardship activities.
Stewardship & Advancement Support (25%)
- Assist with donor stewardship projects, including thank-you letters, donor reports, and recognition initiatives.
- Support data entry, record maintenance, and advancement-related administrative tasks.
- Help prepare materials for donor meetings and alumni engagement activities.
- Conduct basic research to support fundraising and engagement efforts.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Current Michigan State University undergraduate or graduate student.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Preferred
- Experience with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) or Canva.
- Experience creating content for social media or digital communications.
- Interest in communications, public relations, advertising, graphic design, marketing, event management, nonprofit management, fundraising, or alumni relations.
Photography, videography, or content creation experience is a plus.
