Advancement Director Northeast Region-DC/Maryland

Job Summary

The Director will primarily work from home but is required to maintain an office and presence in our Northeast Region offices in the DC/Maryland metro area. Residence within a commutable distance is required.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of 100-125 prospects/donors, including foundations, corporations, alumni, and friends.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts of $100,000 and above.
  • Conduct 12-15 personal visits per month, including online meetings and regional travel.
  • Develop proposals aligned with fundraising priorities and donor interests.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to develop engagement opportunities.
  • Maintain detailed records of all interactions and strategies in the donor management system.
  • Report on donor activity and strategy to leadership regularly.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in major gift fundraising and relationship management.
  • Proven success in cultivating, closing, and stewarding six-figure gifts.
  • Excellent communication, proposal development, and relationship-building skills.
