The University of Houston System—Houston Public Media seeks an experienced fundraising leader to develop and manage a strategic plan for an assigned college or unit. This role serves as the chief development officer for the unit, reporting to the dean and to UH Advancement, and requires knowledge of personal solicitation and basic planned giving.

  • Minimum three years of directly job-related experience.
  • Knowledge of personal solicitation and planned giving.

Responsibilities

  • Directs development activities and creates a comprehensive fundraising plan.
  • Manages a portfolio of prospects typically $25,000–$100,000.
  • Identifies, cultivates and solicits prospects; stewards donors.
  • Participates in major gift opportunities with UH Advancement.
  • Provides guidance on personal solicitation of gifts and other matters.
  • May manage development staff and administer the budget for the unit.
  • Participates in university-wide development activities as needed.
  • Supports alumni relations, publications, events, and media relations.
